Week 13 could be a heck of a ride this year, and it’s quite the breeding ground for some interesting NFL bold predictions. Here are some things to watch out for across the landscape of games to come.
Odell Beckham Jr. torches Jets for 200 yards
The New York Giants go into week 13 knowing it might be do-or-die time if they want to make a playoff push. Odell Beckham Jr. figures to lead the way in the passing game, and he has to be licking his chops as he prepares to face a New York Jets secondary that likely won’t have Darrelle Revis, who is injured. Expect him to have a big day. Like 200 yards and multiple touchdowns big.
Texans and Bills final score is single digits
Every once in a while there are games on the schedule that just line up and scream “defensive slugfest.” Another way to put that is two great defenses going against offenses with quarterback questions. Such is the case for the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans. Both teams have a lot to play for, and both defenses are good. Expect them to dictate the action to the point where scoring is optional. A 9-7 final is in the cards.
Romo-less Cowboys stun the Redskins in Washington
Rivalries are funny business in the NFL. Especially division rivalries. No matter what the team records might be, the worse team beats the better one. Few know this truth better than the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. Many times they’ve each beaten the other when they probably shouldn’t have. That’s why the Cowboys, winless without Tony Romo, will claim their first of the year by stunning the Redskins for just their second home loss in 2015.
Drew Brees and the Saints end the Panthers streak
Speaking of stunning upsets, an even bigger one will come from the NFC South. The Carolina Panthers are now the only undefeated team left in the league and aim to stay that way.
There are few reasons to think the New Orleans Saints, who have lost three-straight, can stop them. Drew Brees is one of those reasons. Him, along with the home crowd and a surprising defensive effort will help the ’72 Dolphins pop the cork on another year as the only unbeaten team ever.
Jay Cutler throws five touchdowns against the 49ers
He has had some really good game in his career, but there is one accomplishment that has eluded quarterback Jay Cutler since he entered the league in 2006. He’s never once thrown five touchdown passes in a game. Six times he has come close but never been able to get over the hump. Using momentum from the Packers win and a healthy arsenal of weapons, he finally breaks that barrier against the 49ers at Soldier Field.
