The moment has finally arrived! We are at Super Bowl 50! The New York Giants are, yet again, facing the New England Patriots! Wow, what a year for both of these teams. Patriots are undefeated again!

Hold on a tic….

Really?

Ah crap!

I was just informed it is NOT the Super Bowl. It just happens to be a NFL regular season game between the Giants and Patriots, and the Patriots are undefeated……yes that part is true.

It’s hard for me to not rub Super Bowl wins in the face of Patriots fans being a Giants fan myself, but they are the undefeated defending Super Bowl Champions right now.

More from NFL Mocks

Okay, it may not be the Super Bowl, but there are still many story lines heading into this game. The Giants are currently in first place in the NFC East with a 5-4 record.

After being part of “the day that defense died” against the Saints, the New York defense put on a much better show last week in Tampa. The seemingly invisible Giants pass rush has finally shown back up with the reemergence of Jason Pierre-Paul coming back from his gruesome fireworks accident back in July.

The offense showed signs of life the last couple of weeks for sure, and now with the pass rush showing new signs of life, could it be the deciding factor against this power house Patriot football team?

The New England Patriots. 8-0. Pure Dominance at this point. Yes, there have been a couple close calls, but the majority of the time it is a pretty convincing game. Tom Brady is putting together a performance this season to show the world he might be getting old, but never count him out. Gronk has gone from a player you want to shut down, to a player to want to slow down if possible. No one can stop this man.

Sorry Giants fans, I’m just speaking the inevitable truth: NO ONE CAN STOP ROB GRONKOWSKI.

You can only hope to slow him down at this point.

The defense was supposed to be a weakness after both Revis and Browner left for greener pastures. False. The run defense was supposed to be weaker without Vince Wilfork. False. Steven Ridley and Shane Vareen left so the run game was supposed to be slowed down. False.

Okay, you see where I’m going with this. Bill Belichick is an evil genius, and no matter how many times you think there is a set way to beat him, he has already thought of that way, plus three more other ways for good measure.

I’m not saying this is going to be a blowout either way. I am saying that just like every other time these two teams have met since December of 2007, this should be a very memorable game.

Coughlin vs Belichick.

Eli Manning vs Tom Brady.
