Andrew Luck injury shocks football world, staff reacts
The Indianapolis Colts may have won the battle on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, but also may have lost the war when it comes to their hopes at a title this season due to a major injury suffered by quarterback Andrew Luck.
This is not a run-of-the-mill injury, but Andrew Luck is not a run-of-the-mill character either. He’s tough as nails, as evidenced by his just feeling ‘sore’ after the game in regards to such a severe ailment.
We’re certain to hear from General Luck in the near future, but in all seriousness, this could derail the Colts’ hopes at a Super Bowl this season unless Luck is somehow able to come back within the suggested time-table of 2-6 weeks.
It’s an injury that apparently won’t require surgery, but it’s something you will certainly want Luck to come back from fully healed so he doesn’t risk further injury.
Our staff reacts:
Erik Lambert: “The Indianapolis Colts may have just watched their playoff hopes crash and burn. Matt Hasselbeck may not have anymore magic in that 40-year old body.”
Joe Wedra: “I think Hasselbeck will do just fine. It’s probably best to have Luck heal regardless. Get him healthy, and be ready for a late charge. We all know they can still win the division.”
George Stockburger: “ Right when the Colts started to look like their season was turning around, a major injury kills their hopes. We saw what Hasselbeck did when he got a chance, so hopefully he can keep them afloat.”
Shawn Spencer: “It was obvious that Luck wasn’t healthy, but he still gave the Colts the best chance to win despite Hasselbeck’s play earlier in the season. Fortunately for them, the AFC South title is still very much within reach.”
Rodney Stokes: “Chuck Pagano has a real task ahead of him now. Hopefully behind veteran leadership this team can continue its success, it’s not a very strong division so there’s still a chance at the post season.”
David Holmes: “Luckily for the Colts they are in a division in which they can still win. Let Luck get 100% healthy and hope Hasselbeck can keep them afloat.”
