Monday Night Football: Philadelphia Eagles v. New York Giants Predictions

facebooktwitterreddit

IT’S TIME FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!! After the extended wait time, we’re ready for a battle between two division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. These two got into it a little this week, which just added to the hype of Monday Night Football.

Former Giants punter Steve Weatherford tweeted a picture of his jersey hanging on the Rocky statue in Philly earlier this week. As retaliation, a local Philadelphia sports radio station’s morning show decided to give Steve a nice wake up call.

The blackout tonight is also a cool thing to watch out for. The Philadelphia Eagles fans are some of the more passionate in the league, so expect the Linc to be rocking all night long.

Don’t you just love rivalries! Another interesting nugget is that tonight will be the Eagles Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Running back Brian Westbrook and linebacker Maxie Baughan will be this years honorees.

There’s good news and bad news on the injury front for both teams. The good news for one is the bad news for the other. According to all the reports, Odell Beckham Jr will be active for the Giants and Ryan Matthews will be available for the Eagles.

More from NFL Mocks

Shawn Spencer:

23-13 Giants. As long as Odell Beckham plays, the Giants should able to pick apart the Eagles secondary. On defense the Giants need to focus on DeMarco Murray and force Sam Bradford to beat them. With Nelson Agholor out, Bradford’s options in the passing game will be limited.

Jonah Tuls: Giants win in OT 27-24 despite the efforts of Sam Bradford and a breakout game by Josh Huff. The loss of Prince Amukamara for the G-Men will hurt, but the play of Odell Beckham and Eli Manning will overcome the lack of defensive production tonight.

George Stockburger: The Prince Amukamara injury will kill the Giants tonight. Eagles win convincingly 30-14 with a touchdown by Zach Ertz and two rushing by DeMarco Murray to help lead the path to victory. Eli Manning won’t have a bad game by any standards, but the surrounding cast in New York just won’t hold it together on the road.

Joe Wedra: Eagles win in a great game. Give me the Sam Bradford show with a side of DeMarco Murray passing game success.

Rodney Stokes: Eagles win 31-20. The trio of running backs gets it going and Jordan Matthews has a solid day behind an overall great performance from Bradford.
