– But didn’t the Redskins win yesterday? Yes they sure did, but if not for a couple different scenarios, Jay Gruden could’ve been in a similar situation as Joe Philbin yesterday. He made a bold move by rebelling against the front office by benching Robert Griffin III for Kirk Cousins, and so far, it has been so-so at best. Don’t get me wrong, Kirk Cousins has looked impressive thus far, but if the wins don’t start piling up here quickly, the front office of the Washington Redskins may push for Robert Griffin III to start to salvage an unsuccessful season. However, despite my admirations for Jay Gruden sticking to his guns, it could lead to his downfall if he sticks with Kirk Cousins through the long term as the Redskins brass does not want to give up on their most expensive investment in franchise history in Robert Griffin III. If Gruden starts losing and Robert Griffin III isn’t given an opportunity to start, it could mean bad things for Jay Gruden.
