Fantasy Football Recap: Seahawks v. Lions Monday Night Studs and Duds
In tonight’s Monday Night Football match-up, the Seahawks and Lions each had some critical fantasy football pieces. Between Calvin Johnson, Russell Wilson, and Ameer Abdullah, the potential for fantasy points tonight was strong. After it was all said and done, the Seahawks rose victorious over the Lions by a final score of 13-10 thanks to some great defensive plays.
Here are some of the fantasy stats that we saw come out of tonight’s game.
We’ll also highlight what happened in our NFL Mocks Staff fantasy football league. You can get all the latest NFL Mocks fantasy advice and listen to our podcast here, only at NFL Mocks and Blog Talk Radio!
Our Week Four Fantasy Studs and Duds are also available here.
Fantasy Stud of the Night: Russell Wilson (15 fantasy points)
A magician on the football field, Russell Wilson once again pulled through for the Seattle Seahawks. Despite two fumbles, Wilson was able to recoup his fantasy value tonight by throwing for 287 yards. He also ran for an additional 40 yards for the Seahawks. While he’s never the highest scoring fantasy football option at quarterback, tonight’s performance was solid once again.
Fantasy Dud of the Night: Jimmy Graham (2 fantasy points)
Another week where Jimmy Graham’s role with the Seahawks is unknown. While Russell Wilson was rolling out, Graham was shown to be wide open right in front of Wilson. Instead of dumping the ball off to Graham, Wilson ran it for a couple of yards. Hopefully for Jimmy Graham’s fantasy owners Seattle will find a way to utilize him and get him opportunities in the redzone.
Fantasy Surprise of the Night: Lions D/ST (23 fantasy points)
They almost earned my fantasy football stud of the night, but instead they got the surprise. If I had to pick a fantasy defense going into tonights game, I would have picked Seattle’s. Three forced fumbles and a big-man touchdown gave the 15% of ESPN fantasy football owners a nice surprise when they check their lineups tomorrow morning.
