Alright Mocks Fans, are you as stunned as me? What happened this weekend?!

We witnessed some of the weirdest games I’ve seen in a long time. If I had told you before that Oakland, Tampa, Cleveland, Washington, Jacksonville, and the Jets had ALL WON in one weekend, you’d have slapped me for making such a bad joke. Naming a couple of them would have made you laugh, but after four of them you’d be saying “alright Matt, you took the joke too far this time” and I would have to agree. But it happened.

At least I managed to call one of them on our Staff Predictions last week! I actually called Oakland over Baltimore. I’m sure when everyone else saw that was my upset of the week they said something along the lines of “alright, we’ve all got to have a talk with Matt, he’s gone to the extreme and we need him back from crazyville”. So Sayre and the Boys did not need to have that talk with me, because I’m not THAT crazy…..yet.

The league seems to be finally evening itself out. Hopefully we can end the 2-14 seasons and have the number one pick in the draft at least winning five games. That would be fantastic. As long as that team isn’t the Giants…..then I may be a little upset.

Luckily there were no major injuries this week……okay I almost kept a straight face. Of course there were major injuries this week! TONY ROMO IS OUT! Broken clavicle, and gone for at least 8 weeks! What are the Cowboys going to do?! No Dez, no Romo….. well there is Weeden, former first round pick of the Browns. Then there is Matt Cassel who was just traded to the Bills this past offseason then cut and now signed to the Cowboys roster. But I have a better idea…..

Yes, Brucie. That would be fantastic! If you don’t understand the reference. Please….PLEASE….go watch the Longest Yard. Not the original one. The one made in the last decade so that you will actually understand the incredible nature of this reference.

Now speaking of pathetic things, and I really am NOT trying to only pick on the NFC East teams here, but can anyone explain just how bad the Eagles look at this point? There were 24 quarterbacks who had more rushing yards than the defending rushing champion in week two. His own quarterback had more. Look, we know I’m a Giants fan at heart, but I can’t stand to see something like that. I thought I could make sense of all the moves made by Chip Kelly this summer. I was wrong. I don’t understand it at this point in time. Hopefully it will explain it self.

Okay, enough picking on the NFC East and how bad my division looks. Let’s take a look at the current standings so far for the NFL Mocks Staff Predictions.
