Andrew Luck looking horrible in 1st half against Jets
The Indianapolis Colts trail the New York Jets at the half 10-0.
Andrew Luck struggling mightily
Or, as the article’s headline states, he looks horrible. Luck is forcing throws, making a ton of throws off of his back foot, sailing passes, and generally not doing anything overly productive for the Colts’ offense. He threw an interception but nearly threw another down the middle of the field and is not making the needed adjustments to the Colts’ general lack of an offensive line.
UPDATE: Since I wrote this, Luck fumbled just before the end of the first half, setting up the Jets in great field position.
Wow.
Frank Gore drinks from fountain of youth
Frank Gore looks like he’s been drinking…from the fountain of youth. Gore is as quick as ever and giving the Colts at least some offensive movement in the first half, running for __ yards so far. He’s doing this behind a Colts offensive line that is struggling mightily, so big time props to Gore for his first half performance.
He’d have even more yards if a couple of carries weren’t called back on holding penalties…
Ryan Fitzpatrick surprising again
I can’t say enough about how shocked I am whenever I watch Ryan Fitzpatrick play well. He is capable of putting up huge numbers, but he’s also capable of being a major dud. He’s spreading the ball around really well for the Jets and managing the game like the true pro (and lumberjack) that he is.
A tipped pass was the lone asterisk on an otherwise nice first half by Fitzpatrick, who tossed a touchdown pass to…
Eric Decker, the PPR monster
With 8 receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown in the first half, Eric Decker continues to prove that he wasn’t just the product of the Denver system. He’s a fantastic football player, and always has been. He’s now scored a touchdown in 3 straight games and has clearly developed an excellent rapport with Fitzpatrick.
He’s making it look easy, too, looking almost un-covered down the middle of the field.
Best play of the 1st half — Mike Adams INT
