Indianapolis Colts (Lost 27-14 to Buffalo)
In what was considered to be one of the sure-fire lock picks for week one, the Buffalo Bills shocked the world and stomped on the Indianapolis Colts in a brutal performance all around by Indianapolis. Many could say that Buffalo won this game with great defense and surprising production on offense, but in my opinion, we just did not see that explosiveness on offense that was all hyped up before the season. Andrew Luck struggled early on and as a result of the game flow, the run game was abandoned after the third quarter. The good news is that Luck and company picked it back up towards the end of the game, but on the flip side, it was just too late to make up for the dissatisfaction of Indianapolis Colts fans. Just like the Oakland Raiders however, the defense was the biggest letdown. Although Tyrod Taylor and those boys in Buffalo surprised a lot of people with their production offensively, it was indeed the Indianapolis Colts’ defense that was the driving factor in this defeat. Indianapolis didn’t show a single sign of pass rush, stopping the run, or decent secondary play. Instead, I saw a very vulnerable, soft defense that will need to improve before Indianapolis can be considered a Super Bowl contender let alone the AFC South favorite.
