Ryan Tannehill bailed out by upgraded defense
Part of becoming a winning team is being able to build a roster that can win in different ways. That was a big reason why the Miami Dolphins spent a large sum of money to bring in Ndamukong Suh on their defense. They knew that Ryan Tannehill wasn’t always going to have it.
Their investment was rewarded right away. Suh and the defense hounded the Redskins most the afternoon, pounced on their mistakes and covered up an otherwise blasé showing by their quarterback (22/34, 226 yards, 1 TD, 1 fumble lost). Of course it also doesn’t hurt to have Jarvis Landry returning punts either.
