Alex Smith taking full advantage of new weapons
Some probably felt that his great preseason was just a mirage, but Alex Smith nonetheless showed a definite advancement in the Kansas City Chiefs offense thanks to the presence of new targets including Jeremy Maclin and breakout tight end Travis Kelce. That was on display as the two helped Smith rocket to a 27 points in the first half.
Smith threw three touchdowns, did not turn the ball over and was his typical efficient self. If he remains like and is now starting to lob touchdown passes (three on Sunday) then this Chiefs team got a lot more dangerous than first believed.
