It’s only the first week of the NFL season but there is no shortage of intriguing storylines for fans to chew on. Revenge? Of course. Showdowns? Better believe it. Trials by fire? Naturally. The 2015 season should get off to an entertaining start. Here are the subplots fans should get acquainted with ahead of the action.
Aaron Rodgers and the new Bears defense
After finishing 30th for the second-straight season, the Chicago Bears made wholesale changes from the top down to rebuild their once-vaunted defense. That includes an entirely new coaching staff, switching to a 3-4 scheme and seven new starters in the lineup. There have been signs of improvement, but nobody is kidding themselves about instant results.
All the team is hoping for at this point is that they don’t get railroaded by Aaron Rodgers like they were last year for 10 touchdowns and 93 points in two games. That would count as progress.
