Defensive MVP:  Justin Houston

This isn’t just because the guy had 22 sacks last season.  Well, okay part of it is but Justin Houston has establish himself as one of the three best pass rushers in the NFL and such types of players are the rare breed that performs like the best year in and year out.  Teams will be so focused on slowing him down that it will make teammates better, and that is what an MVP is about.

It’s doubtful that Houston approaches his ridiculous numbers from a year ago but there is no reason to think he won’t be in double digits again.  He’s in his prime, healthy and playing with a strong cast around him.  If his offense can help him with a few bigger leads, it’s going to be hard stopping his rampage of opposing quarterbacks.
