The deflation heard round the world, its a relief to finally know that the circus is finally over. Between the original reports following the AFC Championship game and the destruction of cell phones, we’ve talked about Tom Brady’s balls long enough.
It’s surely a big weight off the shoulders of Bill Belichick as well. Going into the season with a young, unexperienced quarterback as the reigning champions was surely not the best situation the Patriots could have imagined. The team enters the 2016 draft without a first round pick, which his not the ideal situation for a team that is lacking depth in both the secondary and receiving corp. Robert Kraft accepted the initial penalties, but lets see what comes the leagues way in the coming days. Also, what will become of the two locker-room attendants who lost their jobs?
UPDATE: The Commissioners office released the following statement, signaling that they do not plan on backing down:
Now, the Patriots can focus on “doing their job.”
