Biggest Disappointment:  Michael Crabtree

The team may feel they got a bargain in free agency when they signed veteran receiver Michael Crabtree.  Most remember his success in San Francisco the past few years, but the reality is far different.  Crabtree has been on a steady decline.  He had over 1,105 yards in 2012, then was injured after five games in 2013 and upon returning last year managed just 698 yards and four touchdowns.

His preseason has offered few indications that he’ll be a key member of this young offense (3 catches, 21 yards) either.  In the end he may end up being another James Jones, somebody who benefited from playing on great teams but weren’t that great themselves.
