Offensive line problems are stunting Nick Foles
There was no question the St. Louis Rams needed to upgrade at quarterback just in terms of talent and durability. That is why they traded for Nick Foles during the off-season. The problem is his arrival doesn’t solve the other big issue on that offense, which is continued sub par play by the offensive line. Despite a host of quality draft picks spent on it, the unit continues to struggle. So far collectively the group has allowed three sacks, two hits, and 12 pressures while posting a run blocking rating of -13.4.
As a result, Foles’ transition into the offense is far from seamless at 6-of-12 passing for 97 yards and an interception. Until they start playing better, don’t expect any great leaps forward by that passing attack.
