Eli Manning not performing up to contract demands

In fairness, it’s likely Eli Manning was telling the truth that he didn’t demand to be the highest-paid player in football but the lack of progress on a new contract does indicate he is still not accepting any current offers from the New York Giants.  Based on his preseason play thus far, he better reconsider that decision.  He has completed 8-of-24 passes for just 68 yards and no touchdowns.  That is a far cry from the way he was playing at the end of last season.  Not all of it is his fault due to injuries around him but if he’s intent on earning that big pay day, he needs to step it up.
