Allen Robinson showcasing the tools of a #1 target
Blake Bortles needs to take the next step this year, but he can’t be expected to do it alone. Like any talented young quarterback he’ll need help from the guys he throws to. So far the Jacksonville Jaguars have invested at wide receiver but none have come forth as potential #1 targets that Bortles can look to on money downs. That may be changing. Allen Robinson is picking up right where he left off in his strong rookie season and beginning to showcase his nice mix of size and speed.
With five catches for 89 yards in two preseason games, his connection with Bortles is starting to mature as well. This could be the preview of the 1-2 punch this passing attack hasn’t seen since Brunell to Smith.
