Seahawks vs. Chiefs — pre-season week 2.
It’s time for week two of the preseason — well, for most teams anyway — and this week features an interesting matchup between the Seattle Sehawks and Kansas City Chiefs.
Both teams have really talented rosters, but we saw some kind of depth from Seattle last week against the Broncos when rookies Tyler Lockett and Frank Clark really stole the show. They will be among our list of players to watch on Friday night, along with plenty of others.
Here are all of the rookies we’re excited about for Friday’s matchup.
1. Tyler Lockett, WR, Seahawks
Lockett was, in a word, phenomenal in his NFL debut against the Denver Broncos. He was absolutely unstoppable on special teams as a punt returner and kick returner, and the Seahawks deserve to be excited about this youngster.
He’s electrifying.
When Lockett takes the field against the Chiefs, they’ll have to make sure everyone sticks to their assignment when it comes to their kick and punt coverage, because Lockett is going to burn them. Luckily, they have the advantage of practicing daily against De’Anthony Thomas.
Lockett is a rare breed of player, because not only is he one of the best and most instinctive return men in the game, he’s also a phenomenal receiver. The Seahawks absolutely stole him, and if he stays healthy this year, he’s a dark horse rookie of the year candidate.
