This has to constitute as the worst nightmare for LeSean McCoy.  All off-season he hasn’t been shy about taking shots at former head coach Chip Kelly, who traded the 27-year old running back to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for young linebacker Kiko Alonso.  A man coming off a torn ACL.  It had to feel like the ultimate slap in the face for a player who felt he was the best offensive weapon on that Philadelphia Eagles team.

McCoy felt Kelly had no idea what he was letting out the door with the move.  Now things are beginning to shape up like the coach may have known something others didn’t.  Not only did the Eagles work well to replace McCoy by signing DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews in free agency, but the running back saw his 2015 season fall into a foggy state when he left the practice field with a hamstring injury.

Anybody who has had one, especially athletes know that hamstrings are very tricky injuries to heal.  If not rehabbed correctly, they can linger not just throughout a season but a career.  Ask wide receiver Miles Austin, who has endured repeated issues with the injury throughout his time in the NFL.

Given how much McCoy relies on his legs, this is one of the worst ailments he could suffer.  The fact he chattered so much upon arriving in Buffalo that he would show everybody that his best was still to come has to make the feeling even worse.  The last thing he wants to hear is Eagles fans saying that Chip Kelly was right.

Everything depends on how severe the hamstring is injured and how soon he can get back.  Otherwise the critics of that trade will begins to snuff out like fires in a camp ground before morning.
