How far has the 49ers defense fallen?
It really is almost comical at this point how much the San Francisco 49ers defense has lost since the end of last season.

The latest and perhaps most damaging yet was Aldon Smith, their best pass rusher. He was released following another off-the-field arrest involving alcohol and a vehicle accident. It’s to a point where questions are arising about whether the team has anything left in the cupboard to field a decent unit, never mind the dominant one of the past few years.
