Players Who Need Big Games
Saints: Stanley Jean-Baptiste
Being a 2nd round pick comes with a certain degree of expectations. Safe to say Stanley Jean-Baptiste came in considerably below them as a rookie, missing 12 games and failing to crack the lineup on defense despite ongoing problems in the secondary. Now his job is even harder with the arrival of Brandon Browner and 3rd round pick P.J. Williams. If he’s not careful the Saints brass may decide they’re better off cutting their losses. This preseason is the time for him to show something. Anything.
Ravens: Arthur Brown
It’s obvious a guy is in hot water with a team when rumors were rampant they tried to trade him the year before. Arthur Brown was a much-hyped linebacker prospect coming out of Kansas State but has failed to make any sort of impact through two years in Baltimore. His chances of playing on defense are all but gone, which means his sole hope of saving his job rest on special teams. Otherwise he may go down as one of Ozzie Newsome’s rare big misses.
