#8:  Drew Brees:  “Breesus

When you almost singlehandedly drag a defunct franchise from the depths of despair to a Super Bowl championship, you might be looked at as a deity too.  That is what Drew Brees accomplished when he arrived with the New Orleans Saints in 2006, taking over a team that was down and out from Hurricane Katrina.

He responded by passing them to an NFC championship his first season and winning the Super Bowl three years later.  He remains the only quarterback in NFL history to post more than one 5,000-yard passing season and holds the longest streak of games with a touchdown pass of all-time.  His bust in Canton is all but assured, and Who Dat Nation will forever look back upon him as “Breesus,” the man who saved a city from the depths of despair.
