Mount Rushmore is one of, if not, the greatest American monuments ever constructed. Originally constructed in the early 20th century, the monument commemorates four of the greatest presidents in the United States history: founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson; conversationalist and outdoors-man Teddy Roosevelt; and the rock of our nation during its most trying times, Abraham Lincoln.

As sports fans, we all love to sit around and discuss who would be featured on either a team or leagues “Mount Rushmore.” Its the guys who founded the league, set the records, kept the league together, or revolutionized it with their monumental playing style. They became the stars and faces of the league for years and years to come.

Earlier this week, some of the members of the NFL Mocks crew got together and continued that sports mantra of who belongs on the NFL’s Mount Rushmore. Our compiled lists include the record holders of both the past and present, giving the “monument” a wide array of generational appeal.

While many of our lists were similar (or incidentally identical), there was some variance. Personally, I went with records over rings. That pushed greats such as Dan Marino and Reggie White up my list above some of the other options available. Hope you all enjoy our list of players who belong on the “NFL’s Mount Rushmore!”
