For the past five seasons, no division in football has been tougher than the SEC West. Perennial powers like Alabama, LSU and Auburn have dominated the western landscape lately, but rising powers are starting to surface in the form of Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Texas A&M. We saw last season how small the gap really was between the top and the bottom of the division.
Lately, the state of Alabama has dominated the SEC’s Western division. Combined, Auburn and Alabama have won six of the last seven SEC West championships. Staggeringly enough, the SEC West has not lost in the SEC Championship game since 2008.

However, as we saw last season, there may be some new challengers ready to step up to the plate. Both Ole Miss and Mississippi State returned to relevance last season before each crumbled late in the year. Arkansas ended their 2014 campaign as perhaps one of the hottest teams in the country. Who will emerge from the crowded pack this year to capture the western crown?
