The Cardinals are coming off of a pretty phenomenal season, everything considered. They shuffled around quarterbacks faster than a deck of cards at the World Series of Poker, and somehow their defense came through and the offense made enough plays for them to contend for the NFC West, and get to the playoffs where they were beat by Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Carson Palmer is coming off of major knee surgery, and they might feel like the window is rapidly closing. They took David Johnson out of Northern Iowa in the third round of the draft, so that would make Andre Ellington expendable. A package centered around Ellington and draft pick(s) to the Vikings might get the deal done.

Peterson would be a big time addition for any team, but for Carson Palmer and the Cardinals, he could be the difference between winning the division or going on the road for a wild card game.
