Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson reportedly will not attend OTAs, and is sending a message to the team that he wants a trade out of town.

After not getting traded in the first round of the draft, most people thought the Peterson rumors might be dead. The Vikings have claimed all along they aren’t interested in trading their best offensive player, even at his current (ridiculous) salary.

Peterson missed most of last season after his legal issues came to light, and the Vikings decided to basically pay him but not play him. The fact that he was paid anyway seemed to indicate the Vikings’ commitment to him long term, but Peterson apparently hasn’t been a fan of how the whole situation went down.

Even if it were by circumstances created himself.

If Peterson is going to be traded, the Vikings could — at this point — look for a player-for-player deal, or they could get even higher value in the 2016 NFL Draft than they might have gotten from the 2015 NFL Draft.

Who knows?

Let’s take a look at five teams that would be sensible destinations for Peterson if the Vikings are willing to work out a trade, now that it seems as though he’s decided he’s played his last down with the team.
