2014 Eagles Wide Receiver Depth Chart: Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper, Jordan Matthews, Josh Huff

2015 Eagles Wide Receiver Depth Chart: Jordan Matthews, Josh Huff, Riley Cooper, Miles Austin

While there is only a one name difference between the this year’s and last year’s depth chart, this years depth chart is considerably worse.

Jeremy Maclin had a huge year for the Eagles and he was paid handsomely because of it. Unfortunately for Eagles fans, it was by the Chiefs and not the Birds.

Jordan Matthews had a very promising rookie year and the Eagles are expecting more from him in his sophomore season. While he has the size and speed to play on the outside, Chip Kelly really likes Matthews as a slot receiver, so I expect Matthews to remain in the slot next season and have a really big year next year.

Josh Huff missed some time in the beginning of the season due to an injury and he struggled with drops late in the season. Huff showed that he has game changing speed and that he is very good in space, but he needs to work on concentrating through the catch. Huff will have a much large role this season, and at the moment, he is one of the Eagles starting receivers. The Eagles need Huff to really step up in his second season.

Riley Cooper had a very disappointing year last season after receiving a big contract. Luckily for the Eagles, Cooper can be cut after this season for a very little loss, putting all of the pressure on Cooper to perform this season.

Mile Austin had an alright year for the Browns last year, but he still has had trouble dealing with hamstring injuries. Austin will be a very good depth player for the Eagles in 2015 and he could challenge Riley Cooper for his spot in the lineup.

Grade: C- ~ The Eagles receiving corps has some good potential, with Matthews and Huff, but they are in desperate need of a number one receiver. If the Eagles can grab a good receiver in the draft, this grade has the potential to increase.
