Free Agency and NFL draft will tell more

The big tell of it all though won’t come until the team actually starts acquiring new players which, make no mistake, is going to happen.  Chicago will have over $27 million in salary cap space with the ability to create more if needed.  Throw that together with six draft picks and this roster is going to look very different in 2015.

Here is a list of free agents and top college prospects who can help Pace, Fox and Fangio install a 3-4 as quickly as possible.

FAs

  • Justin Houston (OLB)
  • Brian Orakpo (OLB)
  • Jason Worilds (OLB)
  • B.J. Raji (NT)
  • Terrance Knighton (NT)
  • Dan Williams (NT)
  • Brandon Spikes (ILB)
  • Colin McCarthy (ILB)
  • David Harris (ILB)
  • Kareem Jackson (CB)
  • Brandon Flowers (CB)
  • Antonio Cromartie (CB)
  • Devin McCourty (FS)
  • Will Hill (FS)
  • Tashaun Gipson (FS)

Draft

  • Randy Gregory (OLB, Nebraska)
  • Danny Shelton (NT, Washington)
  • Eric Kendricks (ILB, UCLA)
  • Jalen Collins (CB, LSU)
  • Cody Prewitt (FS, Ole Miss)

If the Bears are indeed making the move as the hints suggest, then it would mark the first time it will ever happen in franchise history.
