2015 Pro Bowl: Pros and Cons of New Draft Format
By Joe Wedra
The 2015 Pro Bowl and its new draft format saves us a “week off” of NFL football — pro! The game will likely also give us one of the least competitive, silliest games of all time — con. Not everyone is a fan of Roger Goodell’s Pro Bowl experiment, but we nutty fans will probably still tune in.

Let’s be honest … what else do we have to do?
PRO: Seeing T.Y Hilton and Vontae Davis play against each other.
The “Twitter Wars” started Wednesday night, as the Colts’ teammates began jawing about the potential of going head-to-head on Sunday night. If nothing else, this will be a battle to watch.
CON: When you think Pro Bowl, you don’t think Andy Dalton.
There were a lot of unfortunate declined invites this season. However, the most notable comes with the news that Andy Dalton made the list of “Pro Bowl caliber” players.
This isn’t trying to knock Andy in any way, but it’s safe to say he’d be the first person to tell you he isn’t among the league’s best.
PRO: We get to watch J.J Watt and O’Dell Beckham Jr. play one last time this season.
You have to love getting to watch young guys like Beckham Jr. hit the field once more before the seven month break.
The caliber of play on offense will be significantly higher on offense, but the J.J Watt’s of the world should contribute a fair amount of balance.
CON: The awkward on-field interviews
These guys were selected to the NFL Pro Bowl; and as great as sounds, they aren’t exactly living it up in Hawaii with umbrella drinks by the ocean.
They’ll pretend that being in Glendale, Arizona is a heck of an experience with fake laughs and PR quotes, but we all know the truth.
PRO/CON: We’ll hear Jon Gruden call one more game this season.
If you’re a Gruden fan like myself, mark this up as a huge pro. He’s the best in the business, and makes every broadcast fact-filled and interesting. There’s never a dull moment with the Tirico/Gruden pairing.
For all of you Twitter trolling, Gruden-hating folks out there — this may be number one on your “cons” list for everything football related.
