Championship Sunday Predictions: Seahawks, Colts to Super Bowl?

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s time to roll out some Championship Sunday predictions! With just three games left in the NFL Playoffs, it could be Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson battling for Super Bowl 49 in Arizona. Will it be the Packers, Seahawks, Colts, or Patriots?

More from NFL Draft

We’ll know for sure around 11:00 p.m. ET tonight, but here are a few predictions to get you ready. Joining me today: fellow NFL Mocks writer Erik Lambert:

Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots, 6:40 ET, CBS

JoeI have to like the Colts here. Andrew Luck is due for a big performance against a New England secondary that is prone to giving up big games in big spots.

Luck and Co. will be surging if things stay dry in Foxboro. Give me Indianapolis, 32-26.

ErikAndrew Luck is a superstar, but so was Peyton Manning in his heyday with the Colts. Manning also had better teams. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady will prove too much for one guy to conquer.

Patriots 34, Colts 21.

Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks, 3:05, FOX

Joe: This one is tough. If it doesn’t rain and the Green Bay running game can get going, look for an exciting day for the cheese-heads up in Wisconsin.

However … Marshawn Lynch + the Seattle defense + a home game = trouble for the road team.

I’ll take Seattle in a big win, advancing to Arizona. 24-18 Seahawks.

Erik: It will be a messier game than people realize. Both teams will turn the ball over and struggle to find rhythm. In the end the Seahawks D will shut the door on Rodgers late.

Seahawks 24, Packers 19.

UNDER-THE-RADAR PLAYERS TO WATCH

Seahawks: Rookie RT Justin Britt — questionable with a knee injury

Packers: Rookie WR Davante Adams — Rodgers’ favorite recent target

Patriots: WR Brandon Lafell — Caught game-winning TD last week

Colts: RB Boom Herron — Trent Richardson out due to personal reasons
