In this edition of our NFL Bold Predictions, we take a look at the Week 15 slate of games and pick out a few matchups that could provide some of the biggest upsets of the 2014 season. Bold predictions are hard to pinpoint at this time of the year, but we’ll do our best to spot the upsets and find out where there might be potential for success for the underdogs.

The Atlanta Falcons (5-8) pick up a two-score victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5).

This one has the biggest potential of the week for two reasons:

1. The Falcons offense is electric and can easily keep up with Ben Roethlisberger and Co.

2. The Georgia Dome isn’t the easiest venue to perform at for away teams. Because Atlanta is in the thick of the playoff race, the fans will be firing on all cylinders on Sunday afternoon.

Watch out for the Steelers secondary to be exposed in this one. The unit has been dismal all season, unable to cover anyone. Julio Jones went for 259 yards against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. Don’t be surprised to see another elite passing performance from Atlanta.

The Carolina Panthers (4-8-1) will surpass the New Orleans Saints (5-8) in the NFC South this week.

I trust the Chicago Bears to take care of business on Monday Night Football, leaving the Panthers in need of a win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

With all the turnaround surrounding New Orleans, it’s hard to see this one being a blowout. The Bears can light a spark on offense when they want to, something Panthers fans can hold on to when rooting for the Saints on Monday night. 5-8-1 is better than 5-9; and we might just see that scenario play out once next Tuesday rolls around.

The Seattle Seahawks (9-4) won’t have any issue with the San Francisco 49ers (7-6), winning by 14+.

This prediction is pretty self-explanatory.

Seattle is finding their Super Bowl style and getting hot at the right time of the year.

The 49ers? Well…

Blowout alert could be in full effect once this one kicks off.
