Seahawks TRADE Percy Harvin to Jets
By Joe Wedra
It’s not just a set of NFL Trade Rumors, folks. The Seattle Seahawks have officially cut ties with wide receiver Percy Harvin, sending him to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick, per multiple reports. The first outlet to report this was FOX Sports, initially reported by Jay Glazer.
Here was the tweet that Glazer sent out that had the Twitter world buzzing:
Just minutes later, NFL Network and ESPN reporters confirmed the same news. After several seasons in Seattle that never really lived up to the hype that Seahawks fans had hoped for, Harvin is officially out of town and headed to The Big Apple to play with Rex Ryan… for now.
Harvin will be joining a New York offense that has struggled not just this year, but seemingly for Ryan’s entire tenure. The Jets’ brass has been fairly set on the fact that their head coach will be sticking around, but after yet another terrible start this season (1-6 after the loss against the New England Patriots), the team has made a move that can hopefully boost offensive production and provide a large spark on the offense.
UPDATE: ESPN insider Adam Schefter has confirmed that this deal has indeed happened, per his Twitter account:
UPDATE 2.0: Seahawks LB Bruce Irvin has tweeted out his response. It’s not appropriate to post, but you can check it out @BIrvin_WVU11 on Twitter.
