#27 – Derek Carr – Oakland Raiders

Growing pains were expected with Derek Carr as he was asked to carry an Oakland Raiders offense lacking any sense of identity.  Carr has every tool in the cupboard to get it done and has flashed at times but needs more consistency.

#26 – Ryan Fitzpatrick – Houston Texans

Say what you want about his stats and his history.  Ryan Fitzpatrick is what he is and that’s enough for the Houston Texans, who are 3-2 and in 1st place of the AFC South.  Fitzpatrick though needs to find a way to cut down on the turnovers (five in past two games).

#25 – Austin Davis – St. Louis Rams

Sam Bradford out?  Shaun Hill out?  No problem for the St. Louis Rams.  Second-year man Austin Davis to the rescue.  While the Rams arent’ winning enough games, Davis isn’t the reason as he’s over 1,100 yards passing in just three starts with a 96.8 QBR.

#24 – Carson Palmer – Arizona Cardinals

The fall from the top half of the league has been gradual for Carson Palmer who is dealing with nerve issues.  His tenure with the Arizona Cardinals is growing more and more questionable in a season surrounded by playoff aspirations.

#23 – Mike Glennon – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

One has to wonder what Lovie Smith was thinking when he benched Mike Glennon for Josh McCown.  Since becoming the starter after McCown got hurt, the second-year quarterback has thrown five touchdowns to just two interceptions and led them to their only win of the year.

#22 – Ryan Tannehill – Miami Dolphins

It was supposed to be a breakout year for Ryan Tannehill in 2014 but the NFL power rankings show that hasn’t been the case.  His numbers are ordinary given expectations (902 yards, 6 TDs, 3 INTs) and his team is hovering at .500.  The sacks problems continue and it’s fair to wonder if he can find a way to overcome them.

#21 – Brian Hoyer – Cleveland Browns

Johnny who?  Apparently Manziel Mania must be put on hold because that is how well Brian Hoyer has played for the Cleveland Browns.  He’s been very efficient with six touchdowns to just one interception and led the team on a spirited comeback to keep them alive in the AFC North race.
