Torrey Smith: Baltimore Ravens WR Takes to Twitter
By Joe Wedra
This season has been a bit of a struggle for Baltimore Ravens WR Torrey Smith this season, and everyone is taking notice. Things have been off in a big way for the former standout, reeling in under 35-percent of his targets. He hasn’t had more than three catches per game this season, and is undoubtedly having his worst year to date.
On Sunday, Smith took his Twitter account, @TorreySmithWR, to vent:
It’s evident that Smith knows his rookie contract is up after the year, and is going to need a breakout second-half of the season to prove he’s worthy of a large contract from the Ravens. The fans are encouraged now, hoping this trend can stop in it’s tracks. Smith hasn’t been elite on tape, and while he’s been drawing a few pass interference penalties, things haven’t been climbing upward for the former University of Maryland receiver.
It’s a long season, but it’s been far from the start Smith and the Ravens were looking for.
