NFL Predictions: Buccaneers vs. Steelers, Mike Glennon’s Line
By Joe Wedra
In this round of NFL Predictions, we take a look at the Buccaneers vs. Steelers game, trying to predict some key areas of the game. Mike Glennon is likely to get his start now that Josh McCown isn’t available. Can he make the most of the opportunity?
Check out some hot takes here as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers game is less than 48 hours away.
Mike Glennon (if starting): 24-33, 300 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
Glennon can sling the ball, and he’s going to on Sunday. His game won’t come without mistakes, but the former NC State QB needs to prove he can still be effective at the helm of an NFL offense. He has a ton of new weapons, and he’ll take advantage of them against a banged up Steelers secondary.
Ben Roethlisberger: 23-31, 284 yards, 2 TD, INT
Almost 600 combined passing yards in this one just makes sense. I have no faith in the Bucs defense after watching what Matt Ryan was able to do to them last Thursday. Expect Antonio Brown to have a strong game going up against an anything but proven Tampa Bay secondary.
Mike Evans: 8 catches, 100+ yards, TD
Every rookie has his breakout game at some point, and there’s no reason to believe Evans can’t have that game against the Steelers. The defensive backfield is in shambles and Evans is set up perfectly as he’s flying under the radar. Look for him to be targeted early and often on Sunday.
Heath Miller: 60+ yards, 2 TD
Miller is still looking for his first touchdown of the season. I think he’ll get two of them against the Bucs. He had a nice game last week, proving again to be something special for Roethlisberger. It might not be pretty, but Miller will be productive.
FINAL SCORE: Steelers win, 27-24
This one is going to be close, but Pittsburgh will win on the leg of Shaun Suisham.
