Kansas City Chiefs at Miami Dolphins
Alex Smith claims the Chiefs are beginning to rediscover the effort needed to win but the mounting injuries are really working against them. Miami is also trying to figure out the problem to their poor starts to every game. Something has to give. Expect a defensively-driven contest.
Result: KC 20, MIA 17
Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks
Here’s a very important stat. Seattle has not lost back-to-back games under Pete Carroll since October of 2012. They have also lost just one game at home since 2011. As badly as the Broncos want revenge for their Super Bowl loss, it’s not happening here.
Result: DEN 17, SEA 27
Pittsburgh Steelers at Carolina Panthers
Carolina sent a loud statement last week by crushing the Lions. Pittsburgh still has a lot of veteran leadership and some young talent, but it’s hard seeing them pull off a road win against arguably the best defense in the league and a singular playmaker in Cam Newton.
Result: PIT 13, CAR 25
Chicago Bears at New York Jets
The schedule-makers weren’t very kind to the Chicago Bears. After a tough, gutty game in San Francisco, they must fly all the way to the east coast for Monday Night against the Jets. That is a lot to ask of a team. Keep in mind the Jets are a trendy team that tends to alternate wins and losses (they lost in week 2).
Result: CHI 24, NYJ 26
