Monday Night Football: Giants vs. Lions Predictions
By Joe Wedra
In this first edition of Monday Night Football, we have the Giants vs. Lions game in full force ready to roll in the first ESPN regular season primetime game of the season. You want predictions for just about everything? Look here! It’s about time for #BoldPredictions…
FINAL SCORE: Lions – 27 vs. Giants – 23
We’re in for a treat tonight as these offenses are going to show up, proving that they deserved this primetime spot. It’s hard to argue against the Lions offense, and Eli Manning has the potential to lead his team to some big performances. I think Calvin Johnson is the clinching factor in this one.
Matthew Stafford: 330 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs
Stafford isn’t perfect, but I wouldn’t bet against him and his side-arm motion to have a monster day. Look for the Lions to go through the air in this one.
Eli Manning: 225 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
Interceptions could be big in this game, and Manning is good for a pair. Manning should have a nice game, but a few bone-headed mistakes could do him and the Giants in, giving them their first loss of the year.
Calvin Johnson: 6 catches, 99 yards, TD
A game-winning touchdown to start Megatron’s 2014 season? Why not? This guy is a special talent, and I find it hard to believe the revamped Giants secondary is going to be able to hold him down tonight.
Rashad Jennings: 22 rushes, 70 yards
Jennings won’t have a bad game tonight, but he won’t do anything special, either. Jennings isn’t a starter for 16 games, and he’ll start his rocky 2014 campaign tonight.
Golden Tate: 2 TDs, 70+ yards
Bringing in Tate was a golden move. The Lions will benefit tremendously from his skills across from Johnson. He’ll be free due to the attention Johnson will get, and is good for a pair of scores tonight.
