E.J. Manuel to Robert Woods
Everybody is talking about Sammy Watkins, and that is perfectly fine. However, it’s impossible not to take note of the comments by Buffalo Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel when he said it was surprising that second-year man Robert Woods didn’t start the Hall of Fame game. Reading between the lines, one would see Manuel has an affinity for what Woods can do. Indeed he was effective as a rookie with 587 yards and three touchdowns. If he and Manuel have developed a connection, expect bigger things this season.
Russell Wilson to Percy Harvin
They barely got a chance to work together last season and they still managed to win a Super Bowl. Now Russell Wilson is hoping he has a chance to work a full season with Percy Harvin. The former Vikings receiver is absolutely dynamic with the football, but he’s had health problems ever since he entered the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks may be a run-first team, but Wilson-to-Harvin could feature more than few highlights along the way.
Jake Locker to Justin Hunter
There are still hovering questions about whether Jake Locker will even be the starter in 2014 for the Tennessee Titans. However, if he does there is a good chance he will seek to reestablish the connection he had going with Justin Hunter. While the two weren’t very prolific on the stat sheet, most of that was due to Locker’s injury misfortunes. With Ken Whisenhunt in town, a man who has worked with the likes of Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald, the pair have a chance to take their games to the next level.
Teddy Bridgewater to Cordarrelle Patterson
This NFL union is one not just Minnesota Vikings fans want to see but many of the national pundits as well. Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is widely viewed as the #1 breakout candidate among second-year players given the explosive plays he put up frequently last season. Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has justified his 1st round status in the eyes of coaches thus far in training camp. That could mean big things in both the short and long-term for both players when they get on the field together.
