Round 3

1. Indianapolis Colts Nick Toon                 WR           Wisconsin

Toon has size, runs great routes, is a great blocker, and has baseball mitts for hands.  If Toon possessed speed than he would be much higher.  Colts get a solid weapon for Luck…now keep them coming.

2. Minnesota Vikings            Ray Ray Armstrong   SS            Miami

Vikings finally get some secondary talent.  Armstrong is a physical beast with a high ceiling that is still available due to his lack of performance and suspensions.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars            Shea McClellin          DE            Boise State

Jaguars have got a weapon for Gabbert and improved the secondary…now the pass rush needs to improve.  McClellin is a Kyle Vanden Bosch like DE who never stops trying to get to the QB.  Gene Smith will love this kid.

4. Arizona Cardinals   Matt Reynolds           OL            BYU

Cardinals have improved both OT spots but Reynolds can be an effective OG and push Brown for the RT spot.  Cardinals have neglected the OL for far too long and should be happy to get both Martin and Reynolds.

5. Washington Redskins          Cliff Harris                               CB           Oregon

Redskins need some speed and play making ability in the secondary.  Redskins pass rush has been elite but the secondary has not taken advantage of this.  Harris has been in trouble throughout his career but has ability to make up for it…or make teams ignore it for the time being.

6. Chicago Bears (T)              Danny Trevethan       OLB         Kentucky

Major sleeper in this draft…and he has to go to the Bears….I will not be happy if it goes down like this.  Trevethan and Thompson will be great starts to rebuilding an aging defense.

7. St. Louis Rams                       Zebrie Sanders         OT            FSU

Zebrie Sanders was a sound RT who has showed the ability to play LT in Datko’s absence.  This kind of versatility would be welcomed on an under achieving unit.  Sanders off season workouts will determine if he should go any higher than this.  Watch out for this kid.

8. Miami Dolphins                 Winston Guy Jr        SS            Kentucky

Besides Zeitler the next biggest steal/sleeper to me is Winston Guy Jr.  This kid is a dynamo who blows up run plays and is ever improving pass defender.  I know the Dolphins would be more than happy with a franchise QB, pro bowl OG, and a very solid SS in Rounds 1-3.

9. Cleveland Browns                  Melvin Ingram           DE            SC

Steal!!!  Injuries have limited his effectiveness and because of that Ingram could fall into the early third round.  Browns will get a huge steal and have had a dominate draft in this scenario.

10. Philadelphia Eagles             Jairus Wright           WR           Arkansas

DeSean Jackson is so not worth the money he will be asking for.  Once the Eagles move on, it is imperative they reload.  Wright would give the Eagles that type of player with good speed and play making ability. Minus the headache and drops.

11. Kansas City Chiefs             Dontari Poe              NT            Memphis

Besides not getting to the QB the Chiefs also aren’t that great versus the run.  Gregg is a solid veteran NT but his time is coming to an end.  Poe represents a raw but very talented NT who could be a force in a few years.

12. Buffalo Bills                            TY Hilton                  WR           Florida Int

Bills are solid at WR, but they lack a true home run hitter.  Hilton would open the field for Johnson and Allen to do some damage.  Bills offense could be scary next year if the OL holds up.

13. Seattle Seahawks             Jake Bequette           DE            Arkansas

Seahawks have an aging DE group.  Bequette was a 1-2nd round prospect who started the year off very limited due to injuries.  Now, he is back on track and might move up even higher with a productive bowl game and a strong Senior Bowl appearance.

14. San Diego Chargers        Levy Adcock            OT            Oklahoma State

Chargers OL is in bad shape.  RT and RG are inconsistent and injuries to the rest leave them short handed.  Adcock can play OG and RT in the NFL…in a pinch he can play LT as well.  Chargers would love this kind of versatility.

15. Tampa Bay Buccs            Ryan Miller                               OG           Colorado

Buccs would love a speed WR to be here…but Hilton and Wright are gone.  Buccs need to improve their interior OL.  Besides RG Davin Joseph it is a mess.  Miller would slide into LG and fix that…Center needs to be targeted soon as well.

16. Tennessee Titans                 Keith Tandy              CB           WV

Courtland Finnegan is a FA who will probably leave Tennessee.  The Titans will miss his pesky, irritating play.  Tandy is the perfect replacement.  His playing style is similar: He is great versus the run, very crafty CB, who can make big plays.

17. Denver Broncos                    Andre Branch           DE            Clemson

I am not as big of a fan of Branch as most.  I do not doubt his potential…he just doesn’t play the game with much passion and he lacks aggression.  In Round 3 he is worth the risk…and I think Fox is a good coach for him.  Devon Still and Andre Branch are solid building blocks for the DL.

18. New York Giants                  Lucas Nix                 OL            Pittsburgh

Giants need to acquire blue collar, tough OL talent in order to get back to where they were when David Diehl, Kareem McKenzie, Shaun O Hara, Chris Snee, and Rich Suebert where in their prime.   Nix will be able to start right away at LG and might be able to move to RT in time.

19. New York Jets                 Josh Chapman         NT            Alabama

Chapman will be a prospect that falls through the cracks.  With a star loaded Alabama defense I can see why.  My feeling is if you asked many of them who is the most important player on the defense they would give that honor to Chapman who simply clogs the middle and occupies blockers.  Jets run defense is missing this kind of presence.

20. Detroit Lions                    Jordan White            WR           W Michigan

Jordan White is a big time play maker.  He has solid size, runs crisp routes, has great speed and control, and nearly ever drops a pass.  With Burleson nearing the end, it is important the Lions keep their weapons fully loaded for Stafford.  I think he is a great complement to Young and CJ.

21. Atlanta Falcons                     Colby Fleener           TE            Stanford

Tony Gonzalez is getting near the end of the line and his middle of the field presence will be missed.  That being said it is imperative the Falcons start their search to replace him.  Fleener would be a great option and is a red zone machine.

22. Cincinnati Bengals              LaMichael James       RB           Oregon

With Cedric Benson likely on the way out it is important the Bengals acquire a RB in the draft.  James is a huge play maker and if used wisely could be another Darren Sproles.  If Benson is retained this would be a solid duo.

23. Chicago Bears                       Sean Spence             OLB         Miami

Trevethan and Spence are great third round pickups.  Bears LB core was slowly eroding but with these two kids joining the veterans…this group is loaded with both production and potential.

24. Houston Texans             Lonnie Edwards       OG           Texas Tech

Texans OL is operating at peak level…but Wade Smith and Mike Breisel are only okay OG…might be wise to bring in some young talent for depth and competition.  Edwards is a dancing bear on the football field.

25. Pittsburgh Steelers      Julian Miller             DE/OLB    WV

Miller has a history of production.  Until last week he had only 2 sacks…many blamed this on injury and him being out of position…than he had a 4 sack game and reminded many of the talent he possess.  I think the Steelers will be looking to acquire this kind of prospect.

26. Dallas Cowboys               Ben Jones                                C              Georgia

Cowboys OL is solid but the interior could be upgraded.  Ben Jones is that nasty, lunch pail center that is necessary to convert those 3rd and 1 situation.  Cowboys OL is an up and coming unit.

27. San Francisco 49ers         Jared Crick             DL            Nebraska

49ers DL are dominant but lack depth.  I think this draft will utilize mid rounds to stock pile depth for their DL.  Crick was a 2nd Rounder before his injury so this could be a big time steal.

28. New Orleans Saints            Kendall Reyes          DT            UCONN

Saints front seven has been solid but acquiring Travis Lewis and Kendall Reyes will allow it to be much more than that.  Reyes is an under rated prospect who is a force in the pass rushing department.

29. New England Patriots        Ryan Broyles            WR           Oklahoma

Broyles would have been an early to mid second rounder before his injury.  Now he is worth a late 3rd rounder to a team like the Patriots who can sit him and allow him to return to form.  Once he does he will be a Wes Welker type player the Patriots love to use.

30. Baltimore Ravens                William Vlachos        C              Alabama

Center Matt Birk and LT Bryant McKinnie are nearing the end and replacements need to be found soon.  William Vlachos is the leader of the Crimson Tide OL and would be a welcomed student for Birk to train.

31. Green Bay Packers            Derek Wolfe              DL            Cincinnati

Packers need players in the front seven of their defense who can get to the QB.  Dom Capers system lives off of it.  Wolfe and Curry would be great pickups who would make their defense less dependent on Matthews.

(only 31 picks in this round because the Raiders lost their pick in the supplemental draft for Terrelle Pryor.
