Brandon Marshall to the Dolphins?
By Editorial Staff
The big news that Brandon Marshall is going to be traded to the Miami Dolphins has a huge effect on this year’s draft. I think it mainly impacts Dez Bryant who has been a topic of many conversations here at NFLMocks.
Marshall fills a big need for the Dolphins and gives Chad Henne a much needed weapon. I have been very adamant that the Dolphins needed to select Dez Bryant if he was available but now there is no need. I think getting Marshall for potentially two 2nd round picks is a better call than gambling on Dez Bryant. Marshall is a proven playmaker with character issues but Bryant is unproven and carries his own baggage. Look for the Dolphins to maybe select Dan Williams or a pass rushing OLB like Sergio Kindle or Brandon Graham with the #12 overall pick.
The way I see it is that this makes the Broncos desperate for a wide receiver. Last season the lack of depth and explosiveness was apparent and magnified by Eddie Royal’s sophomore slump. The #11 pick is a good landing spot for Bryant where he could step right in and take over the void left by Marshall. However, I am forced to consider will the Broncos want to risk selecting another wide receiver with character concerns. This article talks about some concerns teams have about Bryant and be sure to check out our BUST-O-METER where we examine Bryant’s highly bustable attributes. If the Broncos shy away from Bryant they could use one of their 2nd round picks and select someone like Golden Tate, Demaryius Thomas, or Arrelious Benn.
Overall this trade will affect the draft in some manner and some of that will be reflected in our latest mock draft set to be available tomorrow!! Lets year your thoughts on this trade!!
