It’s time the Kansas City Chiefs begin to search for the Quarterback of the future

I want to start this article off by saying that I do not believe this should be a top priority for the Chiefs this particular offseason. The reason being is quite simple… Alex Smith is more than capable of leading this team into a deep playoff push.

While there are many Chiefs fans out there that have doubts about Alex Smith’s ability, his ability shouldn’t be in question. The lack of a consistent running game since the Jamaal Charles injury has been the biggest detriment to the Andy Reid led offense.

Still, with the amount of money Alex Smith is owed for the 2018 NFL season, and his ever-growing age the Chiefs should begin to look at their options for an Alex Smith predecessor.

I have listed two different QB prospects that the Chiefs should target in the upcoming 2017 NFL draft, as well as a surprising FA signing the Red Sea faithful should hope for.
