Brian Hoyer Suffers Arm Injury on Thursday Night Football
While most Chicago fans were watching the Cubs, Bears back-up quarterback Brian Hoyer suffered an arm injury in the second quarter
With Jay Cutler on ice with a thumb injury, Brian Hoyer has started five straight games for the Bears. On Thursday Night Football against their rival Green Bay Packers, Hoyer landed awkwardly on his left arm.
The veteran quarterback immediately clutched his non-throwing forearm, and was taken to the locker room for an x-ray.
Third-string quarterback Matt Barkley entered the game in-place of Hoyer. Barkley has been on three different rosters in as many years, and has not played in an NFL game since 2014.

John Fox confirmed Hoyer broke his left arm at half time.

Hoyer signed as a free agent after taking the Houston Texans to the playoffs last season, only to lose in the first round.
Barkley was a star quarterback at USC, but opted not to declare for the 2012 NFL Draft that already touted names such as Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. Hoping to be the top pick in 2013, Barkley returned to USC only to suffer a shoulder injury.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly drafted Barkley in the fourth-round in 2013, although Barkley only played limited minutes in Philadelphia.
Barkley received his first regular action after Nick Foles went down with a concussion in the fourth quarter against the Dallas Cowboys in 2013. Barkley completed 11 of his 20 pass attempts for 129 yards, and threw three interceptions.
Philadelphia traded Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a conditional seventh round draft pick. Barkley remained on the Cardinals roster for six games, resulting in the Eagles being awarded the 251st overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Linebacker Joe Walker was drafted out of Oregon, but did not make the Eagles 53-man roster.
