The NFL hot takes for week 5 of the 2016 regular season feature plenty of drama on the head coaching levels, not to mention some big decisions.

Namely several teams are forced to begin pondering the future with their records looking bleak. Meanwhile certain men are fighting for their jobs. What did this Sunday action unveil for them?

Chip Kelly has to find his own quarterback

There is no doubt Chip Kelly has gotten a lot of flak over the past couple years for how his teams have struggled. Also how his once famous up-tempo offense just hasn’t looked the same. Part of the reason that is the case is because he hasn’t had the trigger man under center who is properly equipped to execute it. Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick are not those types. It’s so easy to forget that throughout his time in the NFL, Kelly still hasn’t been able to choose his own quarterback high in the draft.

Hopefully the San Francisco 49ers are figuring out that this is something they need to make happen. Kelly has done what he can but Gabbert and Kaepernick were beyond help even before he arrived. This offense can still put up numbers. They just need somebody who can grow within the system he’s trying to build. Somebody that Kelly wants. Odds are they’ll have the high draft pick next April in order to make it happen. Question is will Trent Baalke sign off on it?
