Oregon Ducks tight end Terrance Ferguson dazzled at the 2025 NFL Combine on Friday night.  Not only did he turn heads with an impressive performance, but he also helped his 2025 NFL Draft stock rise giving teams a player to pay attention to at the position.

Ferguson, who is entering the draft after catching 43 receptions for 591 yards and 3 touchdowns as a senior, has good size for a pass catching tight end.  Measuring at 6-foot-5, 255 pounds, the athletic tight end is a versatile player who doesn’t mind getting in there and blocking.  But it is his sneaky acceleration off the line and his route running that makes him a big target threat, especially in the red zone.

How Terrance Ferguson’s 40 time compares to other 2025 tight end prospects?

At the NFL combine, Ferguson recorded a position best 4.63 seconds in the combine.  With top ranked tight end prospects Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland not taking part in drills, Ferguson took advantage of increasing his own draft hype.  A couple of notable tight ends he bested was Bowling Green’s Harold Fannin Jr. who ran a 4.71 40-yard dash and Notre Dame’s Mitchel Evans who came in at 4.74.  The second and third best times were South Carolina’s Joshua Simon who ran a 4.64 40-time and Alabama’s CJ Dippre who came in third at 4.69.

The stand outs on this list are Vernon Davis and Evan Engram.  Davis, who was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, took that top-notch speed and became one of the best tight ends in in football.  Engram got off to a slow start after being drafted by the New York Giants in 2017 but emerged as a Pro Bowl tight end in the league.  Ferguson’s 4.43 time is now 4th on that all-time list.

More 2025 NFL Combine:

As far as the 2025 NFL Draft, Ferguson showcased other skills at the combine to separate himself including a 39-inch vertical and 10-2 broad jump.  In catching skills he caught everything thrown to him and overall showcased skills that make him such a reliable target for Dillon Gabriel throughout the 2024 football season.  Teams like the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Chargers could look to a tight end like Ferguson on Day 2 or Day 3 if they miss out on Warren or Loveland in the first round.
