Dante Moore is one of the more talented quarterback prospects in college football. In leading the No. 7 Oregon Ducks to a 9-1 record, the exciting sophomore quarterback has delivered with a magical aerial attack and has been clutch in key moments during his run in 2025.
Coming off a stellar Week 12 performance against Minnesota, Moore has established himself as both a prime Heisman Trophy candidate and a Bonafide top 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft if he declares. In throwing for 306 yards and 2 touchdowns in that 42-13 win against Minnesota, Moore showcased his arm talent and patience in the pocket in helping Oregon taking another step towards the college football playoffs.
Dante Moore is a quarterback with a “loaded toolbox”
Standing at 6-foot-3, 206 pounds, the size is there. Moore has even drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes due to his ability to create plays on the move, but else makes the 20-year-old QB prospect one of the more fascinating prospects ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft? Mel Kiper Jr., doesn’t hold back in forecasting just why NFL teams should keep their eye on Moore:
“Moore is a third-year sophomore with some impressive traits. His accuracy has been solid all season, and he shows good touch on his deep ball. Moore can throw from different arm angles with precision and delivers strikes while rolling either left or right out of the pocket. He can scramble a bit too.
Moore started five games at UCLA in 2023 before sitting behind in 2024, so he has only 14 career starts to date. Moore is still developing and will be only 20 years old at draft time. But the toolbox is loaded, and he plays with true command of the Ducks' offense. I see a lot of confidence in Moore's game; nothing ever seems to faze him.”
It is that confidence and presence in and out of the pocket that makes Moore one of the top 3 quarterbacks to target in the draft. Let’s look at which NFL teams would be in prime position to land his talented potential.
3 NFL teams in position to land Dante Moore
New York Jets:
The Jets are in great position in this draft because they have two first round picks and two second round picks to make a move to land one of the top three quarterbacks if they are not within the top 5 of the draft order. They should be able to land Dante Moore if he declares. While the Jets historically have not been the greatest of situations for young quarterbacks, the confidence and overall talent of Moore should prove to be difference if he has the right playmakers around him and a solid offense line. With his maturity, accuracy and mobility Moore could be the answer to the Jets’ quarterback dreams.
Other QB options for the Jets: Fernando Mendoza, Ty Simpson, Garrett Nussmeier
Cleveland Browns:
The Browns are another team in search of a franchise quarterback. The question is are they a team with the patience to let a quarterback talent like Moore grow and develop. As a team with young talent on both sides of the ball, the Browns could be a good situation for Moore. They have a young running back in Quinshon Judkins, a tight end target in Harold Fannin Jr. and an opportunity to draft a big receiver with one of their two first round picks. Adding Moore to the mix would make the Browns offense an interesting one to watch in 2026.
Other QB options for the Browns: Ty Simpson, LaNorris Sellers, Fernando Mendoza
Las Vegas Raiders:
Like the Browns, the Raiders would have talented playmakers around Moore. They also have a veteran in Geno Smith for him to learn behind if he is deemed not ready right away. In Las Vegas, Moore will have a great tight end to get the ball to in Brock Bowers with Ashton Jeanty lining up behind them. It would be like what he has at Oregon except the Raiders will need to make sure the offensive line is solid in front of him, and they have a solid plan for how they want to develop him. Out of the three teams, the Raiders could address another need with their top pick and take a shot at a QB like LaNorris Sellers or Jayden Maiava in Day 2 if either declares.
