The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens enter Senior Bowl week with clear needs at wide receiver. Cleveland’s group ranked 31st according to PFF, while Baltimore needs a younger complement to Zay Flowers. One player both teams are likely watching closely is Georgia State’s Ted Hurst, a dynamic receiver who has dominated the Sun Belt the past two seasons.
Dominant college production and explosive playmaking
Hurst has earned All-Sun Belt honors in back-to-back seasons. In 2025, he recorded career highs with 71 receptions for 1,004 yards, averaging 14.1 yards per catch, and scored six touchdowns. That season included two games over 165 yards, showing his ability to take over a game. In 2024, he set the school record with nine touchdown receptions and averaged 17.2 yards per catch. His most notable performance that season was a 173-yard effort against Arizona State, demonstrating his ability to make plays against Power Four competition.
NFL scouts will like Hurst’s combination of size, speed, and agility. He measures 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, and runs a 4.51 40-yard dash. This rare size-speed combination makes him a legitimate deep threat who can stretch a defense vertically and win jump-ball situations. Hurst is also dangerous after the catch, totaling 374 yards in 2025 and forcing 18 missed tackles. He catches 59 percent of contested balls, shows the ability to make plays in traffic, and consistently breaks tackles, making him a versatile weapon in multiple situations.

There are areas Hurst must improve before becoming a consistent NFL contributor. At 185 pounds, he is lean for his height, which can make it difficult to handle press coverage and more physical NFL corners. He had seven drops this past season, including some routine catches, which scouts will notice. Evaluators will also weigh the level of competition he faced in the Sun Belt compared to Power Four defenses.
Currently ranked as the ninth-best wide receiver in the 2026 class, Hurst carries a third-round grade on my board. Some draft boards, including the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus board, place him in the fourth round, which could make him an intriguing value pick for teams like the Browns or Ravens. With his combination of big-play ability, speed, and size, Hurst has the tools to make an immediate impact if he lands in the right situation.
