University of Central Florida running back RJ Harvey enters the 2025 Senior Bowl with plenty to prove to NFL scouts. Despite an outstanding college career, his game has areas that raise questions about his ability to translate to the next level.

Harvey’s production speaks for itself—he led the Big 12 in rushing last season with 1,577 yards and 22 touchdowns, boasting an impressive 6.8 yards per carry. Known for his quick feet, elusiveness, and strong lateral movement, Harvey forced 69 missed tackles in 2024 alone. However, his smaller stature at 5'9" and 208 pounds could limit his ability to handle every-down duties in the NFL.

One of the biggest concerns for Harvey is his pass-blocking ability. Pro Football Focus graded him at a dismal 19.1 in this area last season, raising doubts about his capacity to protect quarterbacks at the next level. His receiving game also leaves room for improvement, as he dropped two passes in 2024 and caught just 69% of his targets.

However, Harvey’s strong contact balance, agility, and knack for breaking away—evidenced by his 827 breakaway yards—make him an intriguing scat-back prospect. Scouts will be watching closely to see if he can address his weaknesses in pass protection and as a receiver.

While Harvey is likely to be a Day 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he could be a great fit for the Cleveland Browns, who may look to add depth to their backfield. A strong Senior Bowl performance could help cement his case as a valuable late-round addition.
