WATCH: Michigan’s Mason Graham fuels NFL Draft stock with explosive sack vs Minnesota
Mason Graham is going to be a beast in the NFL. In his team’s Week 5 victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, the Michigan Wolverines highly touted defensive lineman showed off just what makes him one of the best defenders entering the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-3, 320-pound junior along with the rest of his defensive unit were dominant in the first half of the 27-24 victory over the Golden Gophers. Minnesota mounted a comeback in the second half with, but it was Graham and the Wolverines’ defense setting the tone early. The big defensive lineman was a force, recording two of the team’s five sacks in the game. It was the second sack that should have NFL scouts drooling.
Mason Graham shows why he is a top 10 NFL Draft prospect in one play
The Wolverines were already dominating defensively in the first half of the game. With a sack already under his belt, Graham barraged his way through Minnesota’s offense line to record his second sack of the day:
With both sacks, Graham showed his ability to collapse a pocket with pressure up the middle. In the second sack, he really shows off his quick first step and power as he shed blockers aside to introduce himself to Minnesota QB Max Brosmer once again in the game. He also introduced himself to several NFL teams who will be looking for a versatile defensive lineman with the ability to clog up the middle and get after the quarterback off the edge.
2025 NFL Draft: 3 perfect fits Mason Graham
Graham’s draft stock rises from week-to-week. With what he showed Saturday vs Minnesota, his power and relentless motor will intrigue several teams selecting in the top 15 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Here are teams where Graham would fill an immediate need.
Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have been trying to improve their defensive line over the past few drafts. If they stay in the top 5, they will finally hit the jackpot with Graham who is an elite run defender and a player who can get after the QB no matter where he lines up.
Miami Dolphins: This AFC East squad is currently selecting in the top 10 and selecting Graham would help that sting in losing Christian Wilkins in free agency heal rather nicely. His quickness and motor would make him an instant favorite in South Beach.
Buffalo Bills: With an undefeated record so far in the season, the Bills may not be in position to select Graham, but they are a team who will be scouting for interior defenders as they have three key players with expiring contracts. Those players are Greg Rousseau, DaQuan Jones, and A.J. Epenesa. The Bills may not keep all three, so Graham would be perfect if he somehow slides to them in the first round.
