Top rookies of NFL Week 5: Sam LaPorta wins the Sam LaPorta award

Lightning De'Von Achane:
The presence of third-round pick De'Von Achane has supercharged the Dolphins' offense. Known for his blistering speed and one-cut running style, Achane has quickly established himself as a critical component of the Mike McDaniel-led game plan.
Achane exploded on the scene in Week 3, where he scored four touchdowns, and is still fresh in the minds of NFL followers. In just three games, he won NFLMocks’ Top Rookie of the Week all three subsequent weeks.
Lightning Achane has been a revelation again in Week 5. His explosive speed and one-cut running style have made him a perfect fit in the Dolphins' speed-oriented offense. On just 11 carries, he rocketed for 151 yards and a 76-yard touchdown for an astounding 13.7 yards per carry.
He is the second-leading rusher in the league behind Christian McCaffrey by 50 yards. To put that in proper perspective, McCaffrey has 61 more rushing attempts than Achane.
Despite not playing until Week 3, Archane is on pace for 2,453 rushing yards; Eric Dickerson's all-time NFL rushing record is 2,105 yards. Sadly, Lightning can not be trapped in a bottle and suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for four weeks, eliminating his chances at 2,000 yards this season.
